A digital dermatoscope is an optical magnifying device that illuminates the upper layers of the skin and magnifies the mole structures under examination. This allows the doctor to see in detail structural and colour changes that may not be visible to the naked eye. He also photographs the mole with a sensitive camera. The computer compares the image with a worldwide database, assesses the risk of the mole and stores it in its memory. This allows us to keep track of how the mole changes over time.
